Traditional LSC cocktails

This range of LSC cocktails includes:-

Gold Star

Gold Star Quanta

Gold Star LT2

Star Gel

Gold Flow

All of the above are based on di-isopropylnaphthalene (DIPN) solvent and as such are high flash point and safer.

All have flash points above 140°C

All have very low vapour pressure and are essentially non-volatile

All are low toxicity

All in this range are based on nonyl phenol ethoxylates (NPE’s) and although they are readily biodegradable they are not suitable for drain disposable. Introduced into EEC law in 2003, EEC directive 2003/53/EC puts in place controls to restrict the marketing and use nonylphenol and nonyl phenol ethoxylate. Essentially, this means that any cocktail waste contains NPE’s and irrespective of its inherent biodegradability cannot be drain disposed. Disposal by incineration is the current best alternative method for dealing with this type of waste. Similar regulations are now in force in Canada and the same restrictions on waste disposal apply.
